Vocational Training in Sucrerie

One of the most impactful interventions for long-term community development consists to facilitate access to life-changing training for the young generation of Sucrerie.

The community has a blooming generation of young men and women who have completed their secondary/high school and are waiting for opportunities. In partnership with a local youth organization, called “Le Club d’Orientation”, we recruited the best candidates for vocational training based on equitable criteria such as school performance, willingness to serve their community and family support.

We established collaboration with the Salesians Fathers in Haiti for training at their institutions in Les Cayes (CDAM) and Fort Liberte (DBTEC).

Students in Fort Liberte stay on campus while those in Les Cayes stay with their families in Sucrerie with daily transportation to Les Cayes provided.

The first cohort of beneficiaries includes 4 students in Nursing and 2 students in Agriculture in Fort Liberte. Four students in construction masonry,  4 students in Electricity, 4 Students in Carpentry in Les Cayes (CDAM).

How can you help?

Annual budget per student at CDAM and DBTEC

You can support a student by making a one-time or a  quarterly donation.
